Get the Perfect Start to Your Day by Creating a Place Where You Wake up Happier
Your morning doesn’t have to be a disastrous, stressful morning. You can create a place in your home for a happier awakening, so that the morning is as calm or exciting as you need it for a good mood boost.
You know what exercise is: wake up, rush to your routine, worry about breakfast, worry about work, and walk out the door. Apartment Therapy’s Adrienne Brough suggests that there is a better way to start your day, and that it will be a happier awakening:
… use your home to create a tiny little spot where you can go to the right when you wake up, with all the tools you need and styled to put a smile on your face in the morning. It doesn’t have to be a big spot or a terribly complex one; you’re just looking for a little piece of real estate that can be turned into the perfect morning wake-up call filled with your favorite things and so much fun that even a gray day can seem full of positive potential.
Determine what a “happier” morning means to you. Maybe it’s an exercise, reading the news, or even a game. Set up your spot every night before bed and head there first thing in the morning to wake up gradually for the good stuff, not the stress. If you don’t have time, speed up your self-care process or get up a little earlier to give yourself time. Isn’t it better to wake up happier than to get some sleep?
