DIY These Detachable Magnetic Flashlights for Safety Glasses

Wearing safety goggles in the workshop is a must, and these homemade illuminated goggles from our friend Jude Pullen are a great way to keep yourself safe while working and get a little extra light to work with so you can see what you are doing. Fortunately, they are very easy to make.

Jude shows you the process in the video above, but there are a few basic things you’ll need: magnets, a keychain light that can be turned on and off (instead of only lighting up when you hold them), a pair of safety glasses that you are comfortable with modifying, and yes – a little Sugru. Sugru is essentially your glue, which is used to attach magnets to your glasses and to the back of your flashlights. This way, they can be easily attached and removed if you want, without making it look like you just glued the magnets to the outside. In addition, this method allows the lights to be independently adjusted and positioned at any angle.

You can check out the full step-by-step instructions at the link below, as well as links for each of the specific items used in this project, from the glasses above to lights and even magnets.
