Contemporary Desk

Flickr user Greg put together this desktop using Windows 7, combining some of the things we love about flat design in Windows 8 with a little depth elsewhere and some well-placed, very useful widgets. This is how he arranged it.

This desktop is pretty simple and the parts are quite interchangeable so absolutely nothing is required if you see a part of it that you are not particularly interested in. If you want the same look and feel, here’s what you need for it all:

Lots of moving parts, but that’s all it takes! Greg also switched the default Windows 7 Aero theme to the darkest setting, which we think is appropriate given everything else that’s going on here. The best thing about this customization is that it works for him, but if you want something different or think he’s too busy, you can always take or leave the skins and themes you like to create your own customization – it depends. from you. …
