“The Day I Leave Is the Day Before I Am Successful.”

For many people, success comes down to persistence. If you stop pursuing a goal today, you will never know what success tomorrow can bring. This daily mantra can help you remind yourself of this.

Sometimes it’s worth quitting smoking and reducing your losses. That being said, you need to be sure that success is out of the question before you give up. Are you giving up because you know this is a dumb idea? Or do you give up because it’s hard? On Quora, John Gunnon shares a quote that helped him finally succeed as a small business owner:

The only reason I even remotely thought about pushing through is the knowledge that I have a fantastic idea and the only quote that repeats in my head every single day: “The day I leave is the day before I succeed … ”This is a funny thing because I almost quit last week. I finished. I was exhausted and more depressed than ever. I did not care. Today I am so happy that I was able to survive because my dedication and perseverance have been rewarded … Just think, last week I almost threw the towel. This stupid quote, which I have been pondering for a year, has come true.

There is no guarantee that tomorrow will bring you success or that you will ever achieve the success you want, but you will never know if you are waving the white flag today. If you find a moment every day to remind yourself of the potential that tomorrow always has, you may simply find the motivation to get through these rough areas.
