Freeze Leftover Tomato Paste in Prepared Spoons

In recipes that require tomato paste, you usually need a small amount, perhaps a tablespoon or so. This leaves you with a surplus of pasta, and if you don’t plan on using it for other dishes, save that pasta by freezing it with spoons.

This tip comes through Cadry’s Kitchen. She explains how it works:

I made space in the freezer. Then she lined the baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a measuring spoon, I poured the tomato paste into tablespoon-sized spoons, like a red tomato cookie. Then I put the sheet in the freezer until the pasta cakes were firm. Once they were completely frozen individually, I simply transferred the hard tomato paste patties into a glass container. I marked the outside of the glass with a black permanent marker so I know what’s inside.
