Create Custom-Named Places in Google Maps for Android
Do you have a favorite spot in the nearby park to sit and read? Want to add locations to your map that aren’t in Google’s database? The latest version of Maps for Android allows you to give any place your own name so that you can find it later.
This means that you can rename existing places (like your favorite pizzeria) or places for which there are no official records in the Google database (like a random place in a park or a specific address). Just open a place or leave a pin, click the three-dot menu in the upper right corner and choose Change Name. Give the place your own name and from now on you can search for it on Google Maps.
