Floating Workstation With Three Monitors Made of Handcrafted Wood
Your desk, bookshelves, and other furniture don’t really need legs if you can bolt them to the wall. This is the case with this compact DIY home workspace with wall-mounted wood planks.
Flickr user Jim Palmer set up a three-monitor workspace in his multi-functional room (dining room, kitchen and living room together). To create his “Hungarian-style writing desk,” he heavily sanded and coated a local wide plank piece of Geoffrey Pine’s wood, and then hung it on fasteners bolted to the wall, made from dense chunks of Lojbit. The hanging bookshelf on the right is made of red oak. Natural, rustic and modern looks aside, this custom desktop platform is pretty nifty.
Here’s another look at space from afar:
If you have your own workspace to show off, share it with us by adding it to our Lifehacker Workspace Show and Tell Flickr pool. Make sure all photos you add are at least 640×360 in size. Maintaining their 16: 9 aspect ratio also helps! Include a little text about what you used, how you came up with the design, and any other important details. If your smart organization and good design flair are striking, you might be the next ambassador for your workspace.
