Betterment Now Allows You to Automatically Save Extra Money
Betterment has already become one of our favorite long-term investment vehicles due to its extremely easy investment options. The service has now added a handy new feature called SmartDeposit that allows you to automatically save any money you have in your account in excess of a certain amount.
The idea is simple: if you have excess cash in your bank account that has not yet been properly invested, Betterment will automatically withdraw that amount to your investment account. You can set thresholds yourself to avoid accidentally charging rent. However, if you don’t have automatic transfers or investments set up yet, Betterment will make sure that anything that exceeds your normal budget is properly invested. Currently, this feature only supports eleven banks , but the company plans to add more over time.
