The indicator appears to be based on the availability of vegetarian establishments. While it’s not entirely scientific, there are strong reasons for each ranking. They are here:
- Portland, Oregon : They have the world’s only mall completely dedicated to vegan stripteases .
- New York : They indicate that there are 156 vegetarian establishments in New York .
- Chennai, India : South India is mostly vegetarian and Suri offers specific recommendations.
- Chaing Mai, Thailand : According to Suri, there are over 80 vegetarian restaurants in Chaing Mai.
- Glasgow, Scotland : Vegetarian establishments are on the rise and were named the UK’s Best Vegan City in 2013.
- London : They have over 130 vegetarian restaurants.
