There is so much to do before and after moving to a new location. This is an extra step, but it can help avoid unnecessary utility bills: take pictures of the water, electricity, and gas meters in your old home before you move, and film your new home when you move.
Then compare the readings with your bills to make sure you are not being charged for another resident’s utility bills.
