Block the Time It Takes to Complete Tasks Instead of Just Setting Deadlines

There are always a few tasks on your to-do list that are put off in the hope that you will eventually find the time. Rather than setting due dates and deadlines, instead schedule the time it takes to actually complete the tasks. This will finally remove them from your list.

Take a look at your to-do list that never seems to get done. Instead of setting another deadline or reminder, schedule a time when you need to address it. Blocking time ensures that you are not distracted and have enough time to actually get things done. For example, I put off tidying up my desk and filing cabinet, so I set aside an hour on my calendar to make sure I got to work. By giving yourself scheduled time to focus, you increase your chances of actually getting the job done.
