Reuse Plastic Water Bottles to Store Ice in the Refrigerator
When you fill up the cooler, one of the essential ingredients to keep the whole thing cool is an ice bag. Instead of looking for the next 7-11, The Kitchn recommends simply filling up a few old water bottles and throwing them in the freezer.
The benefits are twofold. First, you don’t have to go to the store to buy an ice pack. Second, you can drink the water when the ice is melting. Just fill a few old bottles with water, toss them in the freezer the night before, and you’re done.
