As the holidays are approaching, it’s time to start thinking about booking flights to visit friends or family all over the country. Depending on where you plan to travel, Thanksgiving prices can be significantly lower than Christmas, or vice versa.
Hipmunk analyzed its holiday prices for flights to 50 cities in the United States to find out when it is cheaper to fly to those cities: for Thanksgiving or Christmas. These are the two most popular travel vacations and most of us can’t afford to do both, so you can use this map to decide where to go for which holiday. Overall, they found it was cheaper to fly home for Thanksgiving in most areas. The average flight costs $ 463 on Thanksgiving and $ 649 on Christmas.
