Hold Tricky Beveled Corners in Place With Clamps and Wood Trim
Beveled corners are difficult to hold when glued or nailed. This tip keeps your corners aligned with standard woodworking clamps and a few wood trimmings.
Save the trimmed wood after you trim the 45-degree beveled corners. These will be used to glue to the ends of the corners with paper in between. You can then hold the corner together with a standard clip to prevent the tree from slipping off. The video above shows the process in more detail and is a great solution if you don’t have corner clamps.
Right angle clamps or angle clamps are specially designed to hold two pieces of wood together and hold them at right angles. They are very handy for gluing beveled corners or evenbutt joints . If you are stranded and do not have these special clamps, then the scrap and glue method is for you.
