Plan Your Rest Days As You Plan Your Workouts

Whether they are based on weight lifting, running, or something entirely different, most workout plans only take a hard couple of days a week, and the rest are for something mysterious called “rest.” But that doesn’t mean you have to spend all day on the couch.

Instead of messing around, plan your rest days to benefit you. As Steve Kumb writes at Nerd Fitness:

Whether it’s scheduling one of the following activities at the same time you usually exercise each day, or deliberately adding morning mobility / stretching exercises to your day, doing SOMETHING every day is a great way to remind yourself, “I’m changing my life and I am a daily exercise. “

In addition to being mobile, you can use this time for yoga, walking, or doing something fun like leisurely swimming, cycling, or playing sports.

It also offers running intervals, which aren’t exactly rest, but running and lifting weights on different days can be a good way to incorporate both into your schedule. Follow the link below for other holiday activities.
