How Fitness Models Actually Get Bodies in a Photo Shoot
It’s understandable that the shirtless, perfectly chiseled fitness model is on the cover of a magazine at the local grocery store in peak shape, but it’s less clear how he got into that shape in the first place. Well spoiler: it does things that you shouldn’t even try if you care about your health or your sanity at all.
While fitness models usually work hard on a physique that many of us can admire, the reality is that they can’t hold that photo-physique for very long (a couple of days in most cases). In fact, the process of “getting ready for a photo shoot” often involves dangerous practices that go against the healthy lifestyle principles these people preach.
Here’s an example of what one model does in preparation for shooting:
First, he cut his usual food intake by about 5,000 calories over the course of a week and began taking magnesium tablets and drinking dandelion tea four times a day to lose weight and speed up dehydration. In his own words, “Basically, you should always be within 10 minutes of the toilet.”
