Family Eating Rules That Can Change Picky Eaters
If your child is one of those choosy about food, you know that he has to constantly struggle to expand his range of food and make him love more food . Chop Chop’s 10 rules for not picky parenting can reduce stress a little.
The Ten Rules are common sense guidelines, but you can share them with your kids to help them understand that they need to eat more than just chicken nuggets and mac and cheese every day. They include things like:
2. As parents, we decide what products, when and where to offer them. As a child, we decide what food will be offered, what we will eat and how much.
and
5. We will not offer food rewards. In other words, we don’t have to “eat vegetables” to get dessert. We will not reward good behavior with sweets and “treats.”
I could just call it 10 Commandments of Food and hang it in the kitchen.
