Create a Homemade Vacuum Sealer for Just a Few Dollars for Parts

Vacuum sealers allow you to store food in sealed packages, extending their shelf life in the freezer . This DIY vacuum sealing tool will work with Ziploc style bags and is quite cheap to assemble.

Store-bought vacuum sealers will usually cost you at least $ 20 or so, but this simple hand pump concept from Instructables user MadScienceHacks won’t cost you much at all. To build it, you will need a large syringe, several freezer bags of food, and aquarium valves and tubing. If you are unsure of where to get the valves, look at your local pet store and they can probably adjust for you.
