Prevent Avocado Browning With Cooking Spray

The easiest way to prevent avocados from browning is to eat them all in one sitting, but if you only want a couple of slices, a thin layer of oil can prevent the rest from oxidizing.

Epicurious’s Serena Bass uses a thin layer of Pam to keep the avocado looking fresh; the thin fog kept one half bright and green for three days, just staying on the counter. You could use the old faithful Pam, but I don’t understand why a mist of olive oil or even avocado oil (meta) doesn’t give the same result. No matter what oil you spray on the deliciously fatty fruit, it will create an oxygen barrier, keeping your avoidance utterly beautiful until you’re ready to buff it. Just wipe off excess oil and enjoy!
