Chrome Finally Improves Memory Management
Windows / Mac: Recent versions of Chrome have consumed a lot of memory , but the update released today hopes to fix that a bit.
Chrome 45 adds several new enhancements to better automatic memory management. For example, if your computer is running low on resources, Chrome will stop restoring old tabs. Likewise, if the web page is not busy with any task (for example, in the background), Chrome will free that old, unused memory, similar to The Great Suspender extension. In terms of power consumption, Chrome now automatically pauses Flash content by default to conserve battery power. At least Google admits that Chrome’s memory usage is an issue, so hopefully we’ll see more improvements over time. The update should be released now, but check Chrome> About Chrome to make sure your copy is up to date.
