Accessing App Information From the Latest Android Events Menu by Enabling Developer Options
Android: Lollipop’s Recents menu is a convenient way to go back to your previous app. If you enable developer options, you can also use it to navigate to the app info page, where you can force stop or uninstall the app.
Developer Options is a hidden set of tools that are disabled by default in Android. While most people don’t use them, you might have enabled them if you’ve ever tried using ADB or fastboot . To enable developer options, follow these steps:
- Open the Settings app.
- Open “About phone”.
- Click Build Number a few times until you are notified that you are a developer.
After enabling developer mode, you can use the Recents menu (accessed by pressing the multitasking button) to navigate to the app info page. With the Recents menu open, simply press and hold the app icon. As Android Police points out, if you’re currently using Marshmallow and have any accessibility service active (like Lastpass or Pushbullet), you can simply tap the icon instead of holding it.
