Build Your Own Portable Raspberry Pi Tablet
We’ve seen Raspberry Pi based tablets before, but in reality they are always a little clunky. Adafruit has put together a guide showing some of the simplest, prettiest and cheapest Pi tablets we’ve ever seen.
You need a little soldering skills to do this, but otherwise it’s a surprisingly simple project. You just need a Raspberry Pi , a 7-inch touchscreen, and a few switches, cables, and more. All of this is packaged in a 3D printed case that you can easily manufacture using one of these services . Sure, you can probably get a cheap Android tablet for the same price, but it’s not as cool as making your own.
