Use Different Makeup Techniques for Photos Than in Real Life.
You have to look your best in photographs, especially those coming up soon, such as family portraits. The flash and camera lens affect how you look, which means your regular makeup isn’t exactly perfect.
Instead, you’ll want to adjust your regular makeup to work better with the camera. Senior Artist at MAC Cosmetics Regan Rabanal shared some tips on BuzzFeed, including:
- Reduce shine and create a matte foundation with foundation and concealer for full coverage. Apply a translucent powder to your forehead, nose and chin to get rid of the shine.
- Draw the brows in tiny strokes starting from the tip of the brow closest to the nose. This will help make your brows look natural.
- Make your eyes bigger and brighter with a trio of eyeshadows: neutral on the lid, darker on the creases, and lighter on the browbones and the inner side of the eye.
- With a thin brush, draw a line on the upper lash line. By starting with a thin line, you can see how thick (and effective) it is.
- To give your eyes that extra boost, apply false eyelashes and mascara.
- Highlighter, bronzer and blush will help define your bone structure and make it stand out in photos.
- Use a lip brush to apply a neutral lipstick for better control over the finish.
