The Best IOS 9 Jailbreak Apps and Tweaks
iOS 9 is jailbroken , which means it’s time to start collecting the best apps and settings that take advantage of its new features. There are tons of really cool things this time around, both enhancing new features in iOS 9 and bringing some of those features to older devices.
Jailbreak may be losing popularity these days , but it is still useful for those who like to tweak and tweak. Whether you’re fed up with Apple’s walled garden, or just enjoy it a certain way, jailbreak lets you truly control your iPhone. It’s not as necessary as it used to be, but just as fun as ever.
RevealMenu
One of the iconic new features in iOS 9 is 3D Touch on iPhone 6s and 6s Plus . One of these features is called Quick Actions. When you press hard on apps, you get context menus that instantly take you to specific parts of the app. For example, in the Maps app, you can tap and then open the menu to get directions directly to your home. It’s pretty cool, but doesn’t work on older devices. RevealMenu changes this. RevealMenu allows you to briefly hold an icon to bring up a quick action menu, without the need for 6 seconds. There is even a slight vibration to give you haptic feedback.
Activator
Activator has long been one of the most popular jailbreak apps out there, and the iOS 9 version is well worth jailbreaking on its own. With Activator, you can assign custom actions to gestures and button clicks. For example, if you want to launch a specific application with a three-finger swipe, you can do that. In this version, you can also add custom events for 3D Touch, which means you can change what happens when you press hard on icons or when you press hard anywhere on the screen. It really opens up how you use your phone.
Shortcuts
Speaking of these quick actions, not every application has them. Shortcuts add many quick action menus to different apps, so you can instantly jump to whatever settings you want, whether the app developer wants to update their app or not.
SwitcherTweak
The new app switcher menu in iOS 9 isn’t for everyone. If you prefer to customize it, SwitcherTweak allows you to change the page scrolling direction, page blur style, background blur style, and change the size of the switch.
Breadcrumbs
IOS 9 adds a handy “Back To” option when you follow a link from one app to another. In any case, the idea is convenient. At run time, the button can get in the way if it overlaps the application in an intrusive manner. BreadcrumbsAway lets you swipe the Back button so it disappears so you can access your app.
CCSettings
CCSettings allows you to customize the settings displayed in the Control Center. So, if you never use airplane mode or Wi-Fi switch, you can change it to something like location services or personal hotspot. The latest version also adds a toggle to enable Low Power Mode in iOS 9, which is great for anyone trying to get more battery life .
Anemone
The Winterboard jailbreak and tweak app hasn’t been updated for iOS 9, but Anemone is a great alternative way to theme your device that runs iOS 9 out of the box. Once you launch it, you can customize the look and feel of iOS in a variety of ways. You can use different skins for your device, customize icons, and personalize your device in many fun ways.
In the spotlight
Spotlight is an awesome and easy way to find files, places, contacts and everything else on your phone. But for privacy reasons, not everyone likes having quick access to everything . SpotlightBeGone kills it all, so Spotlight no longer exists.
HideMe8
HideMe8 lets you customize a ton of little things. You can hide and disable icons in the Control Center, hide icons on the lock screen, get rid of various items in the Action Center, and most importantly, hide any stock apps you are not using. Some people report that the app works with minor glitches in iOS 9, but I had no problems. Either way, the developer is presumably working on an updated version of HideMeX that should fix any issues.
Hey Siri unlocked
IPhone 6s and 6s Plus users can say “Hey Siri” at any time to call Siri. Older iPhone users can only do this when the phone is plugged in . Hey Siri unlocked allows senior iPhone users to call Siri with “Hey Siri” anytime, anywhere, just like the 6s and 6s Plus.
