Explore 62 Popular Myths and Misconceptions With This Interactive Diagram

You probably already know that you shouldn’t believe everything you hear, but some people still do. This interactive diagram allows you to explore the most popular and widespread myths and misconceptions so you can find out the truth.

This interactive diagram by David McCandless of Information Is Beautiful organizes each myth by type and shows how widespread each lie is. The more often Google searches for a certain myth, the bigger the colored bubble will be. You may have already seen some of them in the previous version of the infographic . It has now been updated to be interactive and filterable, so you can search by colored myth type. They also added 10 more major misconceptions (bringing the total to 62); for example, the fact that something with a “steep learning curve” is actually quick and easy to learn, or that a lie detector doesn’t actually detect any lies.
