Skip Trash and Instantly Delete Items in OS X With Keyboard Shortcut
The OS X Recycle Bin is great for when you’re not entirely sure if you will need a file again, but more often than not, when you delete something, you’re going to do it. Luckily, in El Capitan, you can skip the trash can and delete items instantly with a keyboard shortcut.
To skip the trash and delete items, select the files you want to get rid of, then press Option + Command + Delete (if you’re a Windows user, you can do the same with Shift + Delete). This bypasses the trash and deletes files permanently. It’s not much, but it’s one of those handy tiny improvements that make El Capitan better .
