This instructional video from ITS Tactical YouTube demonstrates how to tie an effective retention knot in seconds. It is difficult to describe in words, but the idea is to make two loops on the rope, then cross them and pull the loops through each other. You are left with two adjustable loops that can be used as makeshift handcuffs. However, this node can also be used for carrying or dragging game on a hunt, and as a foot support when someone is climbing up or down from somewhere.
