Reader willemvdm has a simple, clean-looking desktop that uses the available space and has only a few useful widgets that provide really useful information. This is how he arranged it all.
If all the bars and icons are hidden, you won’t be able to tell, but this is the Windows desktop. A bit of magic in Rainmeter – like most of our custom Windows desktops – and it’s not hard to customize. Here’s what you need:

With just a few skins (and great musical taste), your desktop can look exactly the same, all with minimal effort.
