How to Exit Apple’s Public Beta Program on IOS and Mac
OS X El Capitan and iOS 9 are already here, but if you’re not interested in getting incremental public beta updates, you might be tired of seeing update pop-ups. You can easily go back to public releases. Here’s how.
On iOS
- Go to Settings> General> Profile.
- Tap the iOS 9 beta software profile (or whatever you’re using)
- Click the Delete Profile button.
That’s it, you are out of public beta. However, if you have already upgraded to the iOS 9.1 public beta, you might want to wait because you will be stuck with the version you currently have before the public release.
On Mac
- Open System Preferences.
- Click App Store.
- Find the line that says “Your computer is set up to receive initial pre-release software updates” and click Change.
- Click “Don’t show preview updates.”
You will no longer see public beta updates in the App Store. However, you can always come back pretty easily .
