It is dangerous to pick up broken glass. Doing it wrong is even worse. If you are picking up the shards with a broom or grabbing the shards with your bare hands, watch this video to learn how.

Tiny glass shards can get stuck in the broom bristles and shake off later. Instead, use a pair of thick gloves to pick up large items, and use a vacuum cleaner for smaller ones. Finally, remember to clean up a large area around the broken glass. Glass shards can fly far from the impact site, and many glass shards are difficult to see at first.
