Journaley Is a Simple Free Private Journaling App for Windows
Windows: There are many good reasons for journaling , but if you’re looking for the perfect app to get you started, organize your posts, add photos and links, and even make it easy to go back and see what you are As I wrote earlier, Journaley is a free app. for Windows, which does its job perfectly.
If you are a fan of the previously mentioned Day One for OS X and iOS, but want to keep it available for Windows, Journaley might delight you. It borrows a few basic cues, and while not as perfect as Day One, it does include important features. You get a distraction-free writing environment with a few simple tips to help you get started, a calendar so you can go back to your previous notes, the ability to attach things like a photo you took that day, or links to what you read and want to come back someday, the tags to keep things organized, and of course, the text options to tweak and change so that you write the size, font, and type you prefer to use – all of this is much better than just using any old text editor.
The app also supports Markdown if you like it, and it’s completely self-contained, so you don’t have to worry about your diary being jailbroken or hacked or anything like that. Optionally, you can save the log file to a shared folder, such as a Dropbox or OneDrive folder, and access it across multiple computers. If you do, make sure you turn on password protection, another great feature that Journaley has to offer. As we said, it’s free too, and it’s the result of the love of two independent developers.
