Transform a Cookie Into an Awesome Pie Crust in Less Than a Minute
Why use a store bought pie crust when you can make it yourself almost instantly? Chef Sara Sanne of Pies ‘n’ Thighs in Brooklyn shows us how to turn ginger slices into a pie crust in less than a minute.
It couldn’t be easier. All you need is:
- Rolling pin
- Ginger cookie
- 3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 pinch of salt
- Pie pan
- Two rags or towels
Just put one towel, toss the cookies in there, and put another towel on top. Grind and roll with a rolling pin to crumble everything, mix with the other ingredients in a bowl and squeeze into a baking pan. Pour over pumpkin or your favorite pie filling. Let’s talk about something simple.
