Maybe if you sit at your desk for a couple more hours, you end up with that revolutionary idea that you need, right? Not necessary. If you really want to get inspired, you need to step back from the table.
In a conversation with Fast Company, renowned comedian Aziz Ansari explains how he gets the job done. In particular, completing it. When the work day is over, instead of staying up late with the pages empty, he recommends the craziest idea of all for work: fuck home .
While we were writing [Master of None], we worked until 6 or 7 pm, and then everything was ready. There are other writing rooms where people sleep in the office. I can’t imagine you doing a good job then. You have to be human and do other things, otherwise you will not have the inspiration to write.
Although at some point you will have to get down to business and start , if you never take a break and do what you enjoy doing, you will get stuck. Ideas don’t just come from sitting at a table and ordering them to materialize. If you’ve spent too much time at work, go home, enjoy your hobby or leisure for a while, and come back to it later.
