Use a Bottle of Whiskey to Build a Fire

Next time you go camping, be sure to bring a bottle of whiskey with you. No, not just for fun. You can use the whiskey or even the bottle itself to build a fire as a last resort.

As the Backpacker camping site explains in the video above, a suitable bottle of whiskey can be used to light a campfire in several ways. The first method is the most obvious: you can use the whiskey itself as an accelerator to light the fire using a regular lighter (which you should probably bring along as well). However, if your lighter doesn’t work, you can also use a round whiskey bottle with a little water as a magnifying glass to illuminate the kindling.
