These Will Be the 10 Busiest Airports During Thanksgiving.
You can expect quite a lot of people at airports this time of year, but some will be significantly worse than others. Orbitz has compiled ten airports expected to be the busiest on Thanksgiving this year.
To come to its conclusions, Orbitz examined booking data at 50 US airports. In a press release, they explain:
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Chicago O’Hare (ORD) will be the busiest airports for the third consecutive year according to the Orbitz® Insider Index, which analyzed Orbitz.com® flight bookings at the 50 largest US airports over the past several years. Thanksgiving Travel (November 25 – 30, 2015) ….
“Travel is expected to rise by six percent, and those heading to airports this Thanksgiving will need to take extra time to accommodate the higher congestion and longer lines,” said Jinen Tornatore, senior editor at Orbitz.com … “As expected, Wednesday 25 November and Sunday 29 November will be the busiest of the weekend.
They suggest that travelers fly out on Thanksgiving and return on Monday the 30th to beat the crowd. Or you might consider flying to ours from nearby airports if possible. Of course, many people have probably already booked their flights, so even if that’s not an option, it’s just helpful to know if your airport is on the list so you can plan your flight accordingly.
