Clean Your Reusable Razor With One Touch Using White Vinegar
If you have a reusable razor, you already know to clean it periodically, perhaps every time you change blades. You may not know that instead of fancy cleaning products, you can quickly soak in white vinegar and water.
This short soak will help remove limescale and hair – not only around the shaver itself, but also from the knot and handle itself. YouBeauty explains how:
The next time you replace the cartridge, take a close look at the mechanism of the shaver. You will probably be outraged by what’s inside! Therefore, it is recommended that you clean it from time to time, although you do not need to do this at a frequency close to that with which you should clean body scrubbers.
Soak the razor in a solution of bleach and water or vinegar and water (do not mix bleach and vinegar, this causes a chemical reaction that produces dangerous fumes) for 5-10 minutes. If using bleach, mix a teaspoon in four glasses of water; vinegar can be mixed in equal parts with water. Both are disinfectant and which one you use is a matter of personal choice.
After the razor is wet, scrub it with your toothbrush while it is still submerged in water to remove any accumulated debris. Then rinse in hot water and pat dry with a towel.
Cleaning your reusable razor is especially important if you are using it in the shower, in an environment that is more susceptible to mold and mildew.
