Offline Google Maps Provides Navigation, Destination Search and More
Android: Google Maps is receiving an update today that will add a ton of information to downloadable offline maps. Besides the simple download, you also get turn-by-turn navigation, location finder, and more.
Earlier this year, we saw this feature on Google I / O. To download an offline map, simply navigate to the desired area and click the download button on the location sheet that opens. It will download all the information you need, including navigation information, tons of popular destinations, and useful information about those destinations such as hours and ratings. Obviously, the maps lack real-time traffic information, but otherwise that’s pretty much all you need. This feature is launching for Android today and coming to iOS soon.
