Not Everyone Needs Frequent Dental Visits.

Need an incentive to take better care of your teeth? People who really try to brush and floss their teeth can probably safely skip a visit to the dentist – once a year or two instead of once every six months.

On the other hand, if you eat candy every day (or if because of the failures and Genetics difficult for you to brush your teeth), maybe you have to go to it more often . As the BBC explains, ideal times vary from person to person:

Last year, the Cochrane Collaboration conducted … a systematic review of the study , and they were disappointed with what they found. The quality and quantity of studies was too low to support or disprove the idea of testing every six months.

[ The UK’s National Institute of Clinical Excellence recommends] that children go there at least once a year because their teeth can decay faster, while adults can wait up to two years without problems. They even go so far as to say that over two years is normal for people who have shown a commitment to caring for their teeth and gums.

Cleaning is only half of the reason for visiting the dentist; the other half is screening for caries and other problems. Usually the examination can wait ( it takes time for caries to form), so if you always come with clean teeth, ask if you can extend the intervals between visits.
