Google Adds Holiday Opening Hours to Maps and Search
Nothing spoils your holiday mood like a last-minute run to a store that isn’t even working. To help you avoid this, Google Maps and search results now show the hours of upcoming business holidays.
The update, which aired today, reveals whether the company will have a special schedule for the upcoming holiday over the next seven days. This will save you time because you don’t have to call the company to check, and you never come to the store at the wrong time. If the company doesn’t list the exact weekend hours, you will at least see a message saying that the upcoming holiday may affect their normal opening hours (so you know you might need to call). Also, if it’s already a holiday day, you can use the Open Now filter to only see what’s open at the moment. These updates also apply globally, so all holidays will be covered wherever you are.
