Set a Password on Your Apple TV to Shop Faster While Staying Secure
Typing a massive and complex iTunes password every time you want to buy something on Apple TV is a hassle, but disabling the password completely isn’t entirely secure. At Apple Insider, they suggest setting up a password to keep that security safe, making your life a little easier.
By default, you can turn off the Apple TV password prompt in Settings> iTunes and App Store> Password Settings. This is fine if you are the only one using the device, but if you want to restrict access to downloading movies without requiring a password, you need to set a password:
- Go to Settings> General Restrictions.
- Set a four-digit passcode
- Turn on the limitation in the Purchase and Rentals section.
You will now need to enter your password to purchase or rent movies, not your full Apple ID password. This should make buying and downloading all these new apps a lot faster and easier .
