The muffin pans are not that hard to clean, but every now and then the muffins pop up, leaving the pan covered with baked dough. You can throw them in the dishwasher, but if you’re making multiple servings, the foil between the jar and the paper inserts will keep everything neat and tidy.
Cover the pan with a layer of foil, tucking the edges to keep it in place. Poke a small hole above each cup, then carefully insert the cupcake liners into the holes. Fill with batter (don’t worry about drips anymore!) When you’re done, you can either toss in the foil to get a fresh batch of cupcakes, or just use or recycle it.
