“Drunk” Pasta for a Quick and Tasty Dinner on Weekdays

Preparing a delicious dinner quickly on busy weekdays can be tricky. This “drunken” paste requires only two ingredients: dry red wine and pasta, with the option to replenish it with foods already in the pantry.

Mix 3 and ¼ cups of red wine with 1 and ½ cups of water and salt. Use this to make pasta. It’s very simple. The result is a rich, slightly sweet (and very red) spaghetti dinner. Add thyme or parsley, Parmesan cheese, or some black pepper. For a specific recipe, watch the video above. They offer garlic, red peppers, fresh herbs, grated parmesan or romano cheese, olive oil, onions, and even cannellini beans if you want a little more filling.

If you decide to add flavors such as garlic or dried herbs, first dip them in olive oil and add some pasta cooking liquid. The starch in the cooking liquid will help blend the flavors. Just before serving the pasta, add extra ingredients and you’re done.
