Find Out How Many Gun Deaths Are Near You and Where Your Representatives Refer to Guns

Some parts of the country have experienced more firearm-related deaths and injuries this year than others. The Guardian reveals how many people have died from firearms by county, congressmen votes on gun legislation, and whether they are affiliated with the gun lobby.

This is a controversial issue, but it is important for everyone to know how their leaders in Congress view gun policy. As citizens, one of the only things we can do to make sure our representatives truly represent us is to reach out to them and act on our voices.

The data on firearm fatalities comes from the Firearms Violence Archive, but is incomplete because the nonprofit cannot count suicides, which are more difficult to track down because they are rarely reported by law enforcement and the media. In addition, the total number of firearm deaths per state may be higher than the total number of deaths in all states because some of the deaths were related only to the state and not to a specific congressional district.
