Create a Portable Gift Wrapping Kit for Easy Storage During and After the Holidays
One trip to the hardware store for a tall bin, a few hooks, and some accessories, and you’ve got a versatile kit to keep everything organized, whether you’re using it for gift wrapping or stashing it in your closet for next year.
You will need a few accessories here, but they are all available at any department store – or better yet, you probably have some of them in your home. Here’s what you need:
- A clean trash can with a lid, tall enough to hold wrapping paper rolls (about 32 gallons).
- A curtain rod long enough to fit in the widest part of the bin.
- Two sticky hooks for inserting inside the can
- Boer
Drill holes in the side of the can and push through the cornices. Make sure they are far enough apart that you can hang rolls of tape from both rods. Attach the hooks to the inside edge of the bin, then hang scissors and tape from the hooks. Fill the remainder of the jar with rolls of brown paper. For a kit that’s easier to move around, use a jar with wheels.
