Kenu Car Kit Helps You Set up Your Phone (and Your Friend’s Phone) and Power It Wherever You Are
Kenu Airframe is one of our favorite car mounts for smartphones , but the team behind it just unveiled a new car kit that includes Airframe + capable of protecting large phones like the Nexus 6P and their new DualTrip fast charger for phone that can charge your phone and your passenger while you are driving.
Kenu sent me an Airframe body car kit before it was launched for testing , and it comes in two parts, the Airframe + and the new DualTrip USB car charger. Together they will refund you $ 40 (direct or on Amazon ).
The Airframe + itself is a car mount that you may already know: it attaches to the air vent using a set of rubberized feet on the back of the mount, and a spring-loaded slider holds any size device and keeps your phone strong and secure. cosy. It works in portrait or landscape mode of your choice. As long as you’re okay, losing the vent (and I’m better off now in winter than in summer), the Airframe can keep your phone in a secure position. After several hours of driving, sometimes on bumpy roads, the Airframe held my phone in place without moving, which was nice and I could use the side buttons of the phone if I needed to. The fact that it’s so small also means it’s easy to put in your pocket or discreet if you leave it in the car.
The DualTrip, on the other hand, is a dual USB fast charger (it should be noted that you will have to bring your own USB cables) capable of 2.4A from each port, which means it quickly charges tablets and other large batteries. even if you use both ports, you will not lose current by using both at the same time. Its long shape protrudes slightly from your car’s socket and you have to make sure there is room for your cables when you plug in.In one car I drove, the socket is in a semi-narrow place, so my USB cables were a little awkward and comfortable and could only go in one direction, but that was a small niggle.
Bottom line, the glider car kit doesn’t do anything drastically different from existing USB car chargers and phone mounts, but it packs both pieces of the puzzle into one package, which is great if you only have one or the other, or if yours could be use the upgrade. Also, if you like the sound of those two 2.4A ports, or are wondering why the current car charger is so slow, this is worth looking into. Even if you have a charger that you like but don’t have a secure mount, Airframe + is well worth taking a look at. The kit includes Airframe +, which supports phones up to 6 inches. If you have a smaller phone (5 ”or less), you want the original Airframe , and the DualTrip separately. Click on the link below to check it all out.
