Chrome Data Saver on Android Now Loads Pages Even Faster by Blocking Images
Android: Google has updated Chrome’s bandwidth saving mode to remove most images on page load over a slow connection. This prevents image-heavy sites from engulfing all of your data and speeds up your web browsing.
The company says the update saves 70 percent more data. With traffic saver enabled (under Settings> Advanced), Chrome will try to both compress pages and block images when it detects that you have a slow connection. Don’t worry: you will have the option to click to download images if you like.
The update is rolling out to India and Indonesia first, with other countries getting this extended mode in the next few months.
