Add Shredded Fennel to Your Smoothies to Enhance the Liquorice Flavor

Fennel makes great fried or raw crunchy salad, but its sweet, licorice flavor also makes it a great candidate for a morning smoothie.

Simply add frozen (or fresh) slices of diced onion, like an apple, along with your usual smoothies, stir and drizzle. It pairs especially well with green drinks, with its light sweetness balancing the herbal notes of, well, greens. Of course, if you hate the taste of something vaguely licorice-like, you might skip it. I’ll just be here and enjoy my smoothie.
