Add Creamy Flavor to Beans by Cooking in Coconut Milk

Rice and other grains are fine when boiled in water, but adding more liquid to the mixture can add extra flavor. Stoke is the obvious choice, but fruit juice, wine, and coconut milk are all delicious contenders.

Kitchn (link below) has a number of suggestions on how to think outside the box, but my personal favorite grain booster is coconut milk. For creamy coconut rice, use a ratio of 1 1/4 cup water to 1/2 cup canned coconut milk for every cup of rice. For quinoa, the ratio of each liquid is half and half. Serve with sautéed vegetables and possibly grilled protein, and dinner is served.
