Rescue Overripe Fruit by Chopping and Freezing in Flavored Cubes
Do you know the moment when the fruit goes from perfectly ripe to slightly burst? Technically, it’s not bad, but not tempting anymore. Instead of throwing it in the compost, puree it and freeze it into delicious little cubes!
You can do this with almost any fruit, just remove any pits or questionable stains first. You can even leave the rind if you like. After cooking, pass it through a blender or food processor, transfer to an ice tray and freeze. You can use these convenient fruit-quality cubes as a smoothie snack, in sauces (both sweet and savory), or as a way to chill fruit smoothies. You can even combine flavors (like strawberry and mango!) Or add herbs in there if you want gourmet.
