How to Stream the 2016 Oscars Online
The biggest film awards of the year are about to kick off tonight! Here are all the ways you can watch it now that you are all passionate about it . Although, unfortunately, for most of them you will need a cable subscription.
The Oscars begin today at 7:00 pm ET / 4:00 pm PT . The ABC broadcaster hosts the Oscars, so if you want to watch you have to go through them. For all online options, you will need a cable TV login (or you can borrow one from your parent / roommate / someone else). There are several ways to view:
- Watch on your smartphone with WATCH ABC app for Android and iOS .
- Look online at the ABC site here .
- Watch on Xbox 360 through the WATCH ABC app .
Unfortunately, these options only work if you live in a handful of Oscar-backed cities. These include Chicago, Fresno, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Raleigh-Durham, and San Francisco. No one really knows why the show is limited to these cities.
If you don’t have a cable TV subscription or don’t live in one of the Oscar-approved cities but still want to watch the show, you can plug in a regular old antenna to your TV and watch the air on ABC.
